I trust you all had a great Christmas and New Year and are even now planning our assault on Divisions 2 & 9. Just to confirm the 1's begin with Saints 2 at home (24 April), Irchester away (1 May) and Oundle at home (8 May). The 2's start with Finedon Dolben 3 at home (1 May), Podington 2 away (8 May) and Burton Latimer 3 at home (15 May). But the first cricket will be played by the Swords with Collingtree away (11 April) and Little Paxton away (18 April). Yes, I don't know where it is either.

The Swords fixture list is filling up nicely with some key changes and additions, such as:- Horsley & Send (A) on 23 May; Preston Nomads (A) on 6 June; Old (A) on 20 June; New Bradwell (A) on 22 August; Wraysbury (A) on 5 September. In addition, we are hosting a match against South Walsham - a touring side from Norfolk - this will be at GHCC on Thursday, 12 August with a 2 o'clock start. We should have no problem getting a side out from all the bone idle students we have in the club.

The Club is planning to tour the Cotswolds again in 2010, with Cirencester as our base (hopefully the Corinium Hotel). It is early days yet, but the plan is probably to leave for Cirencester after the league matches finish on Saturday, 28 August. We hope to play matches on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (29/30/31 August) and return back to Great Houghton on Wednesday, 1 September. Watch this space for further details.

You will have seen the note from Chris about junior nets. These start on Tuesday, 19 January for one hour between 6 and 7. If you can spare the time to come and help it would be greatly appreciated - we are a few helpers down for these early weeks (eg. Chris is in South Africa for a few weeks). The lads should check and see if helping coach the youngsters can count towards some spurious qualification you are going for.

Finally, Rob is still trying to get an answer out of that useless Aussie (Bradders) as to whether he is coming over this season. Fortunately, he has another overseas player in his sights - Diego Laurencio - who I believe is only too willing to lead the boys out to glory.

However, Irchester and Oundle are the next ones.....this is a conspiracy! The league well and truly hate us!!!!
